Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from July 24 to July 30, 2021. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

 

 

  • July 24: Boko Haram killed seven Cameroonian soldiers in Sagme, Cameroon.
  • July 24: Boko Haram kidnapped two soldiers in Konduga, Borno.
  • July 25: Bandits killed two in Wumo, Sokoto.
  • July 25: Bandits kidnapped sixty in Bakura, Zamfara.
  • July 25: Bandits killed one in Jibia, Katsina.
  • July 25: Kidnappers abducted two in Makurdi, Benue.
  • July 26: Herdsmen killed four in Uzo-Uwani, Enugu.
  • July 26: One police officer and six bandits were killed during a clash in Oru East, Imo.
  • July 26: Kidnappers abducted nineteen naval school students in Esan West, Edo.
  • July 26: Bandits killed "many" (estimated at twenty) in Zurmi, Zamfara.
  • July 27: Gunmen killed two in Orlu, Imo.
  • July 28: A gang fight resulted in the death of four bandits in Sabuwa, Katsina.
  • July 16–July 29: Troops killed sixteen Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) militants in the North East (estimated as Borno) (three already accounted for previously).
  • July 16–July 29: Troops killed fourteen bandits in North West (estimated as Zamfara) (seven already accounted for previously).
  • July 16–July 29: Troops killed twelve bandits and robbers in Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna.
  • July 30: Sectarian violence led to one death in Riyom Local Government Area (LGA) and three deaths in Bassa LGA in Plateau.
  • July 30: Amotekun killed two kidnapers in Iwajowa, Oyo.
  • July 30: Kidnappers abducted two health workers in Maru, Zamfara.
